tow errors in 156 selespeed

in my alfa 156 2.0 liter 2000 i have tow errors in the memory , one error in the engine and another one in the transmission :

the tow problems in the car is in the morning when iturn the car on it cannt idle for 5 seconds then it get ok ,
and the other problem in the selespeed, some time when i want to stop in trafficlight the gear shift from 5 to 3 to 4 to 2 and it stay stuck at 2 till the engine turn off , it should press the clutch insted of turn off the engine .

can you tell me what the errors mean ? and whats the relation with the problem that i suffer from ?

The first error is one of the lambda sensors. Not sure which it is off the top of my head, but if you search the forum for the error code, you'll probably find a few threads about it.

The second one is the gearbox speed sensor. In the front of the box, near the reverse light switch is an orange sensor. Unplug the wires that come from it, clean the connections and plug it back in. If this doesn't cure it, you probably need a new sensor...or the wiring is bad somewhere...

most problems with sele are bad corroded connections or faulty relays !

the P0725 is common and mostly cures itself (my sele has it sometimes, and in my case it does not harm, clear the fault and OK)
