A JTD exhaust to a 156 V6?
Unknown to me, the intermediate pipe on my exhaust had the silencer cut out by a previous owner, probably as a cheaper alternative to fitting the proper Supersprint section.
When that started to blow, I spent ages trying to locate a V6 pipe without the silencer to no avail.
I looked at 2.0 Twin Spark pipes (too small) and GTA pipes (same as V6) and had almost given up hope when I stumbled across the intermediate pipe for the JTD - the same as the V6 pipe, minus the silencer!
So, does it fit? Yes, in fact it is a direct replacement as all the dimensions are the same.
Are there any performance benefits? I'm not sure, as mine already had
the silencer removed. Saying that, my car now sounds the best it ever has, I guess the rust and welds of the old pipe would have made a difference!
Also, as a bonus, the JTD pipe is a fair bit cheaper to buy than that of the V6, which is always good!
Can't wait to get my decats made up now!
For those interested, here is a comparison of the two pipes:
