Do not insure it in someone else's name as that is fronting and you will receive nothing if you have an accident or write the car off. Whoever's name is on the reg docs, then the insurance has to be in that person's name too!
You really have no choice but to insure it in your name.
not really, there is a difference between registered keeper and registered owner
i agree that insuring it in someone elses name is fronting, but say for instance,
your mum buys the car for you, she will be the registered owner, then that leaves you to get your own insurance as a registered keeper, that isnt fronting
then adding your parents, or an older more experienced driver to your insurance as a named driver will drop it down.
fronting is someone else insuring the car, i.e parents, then addin their son/daughter as a named driver, knowing
thier siblings will be the main driver
