Is my 147 revving too high?
Hi everyone, this is my first post here and i'm hoping you nice folk can clarify an issue i have.
Firstly i'll do the background! I've had my Alfa 147 for 3 months now and it's the best car i've ever driven - i had a citroen C2 previously but enough on that one!!
My 147 is a 1.6 petrol, twinspark Lusso model and is an 05 plate and has done 30'000 miles.
My query is about the revs on the car as i sometimes feel like it revs too high and the OH also reckons it does although he's no mechanic.
It's ok at around 70-80mph and will rev at around 4000rpm at 80mph then after that it starts to get quite high. I can be driving along the motorway at 90mph and it will be doing around 5000rpm.
Is this normal for my car or should I be getting this checked out? When i bought it they had fitted a new cam belt as per the new service guidelines. Apologies if this is a really stupid question but hopefully you'll be able to help.
Thanks in advance,
