This has been bugging me for years, so I though I'd ask you lovely people...
When you turn on the ignition in the 147 it does a test of brake, indicator, sidelight bulbs etc.
Ever since I have owned my car, if you don't pause at all at the first click on turning the key, but switch through straight to the starter motor, almost every time it tells me I have a bulb failure, usually several - which it reels off on the display.
However if I do pause on the first click (ignition on) for a couple of seconds then I never get the bulb failure message (except when I did have a sidelight failure, which anyone who has a GTA with zenons will tell you is a complete pain in the backside to fit
). Is it just my car or is it a general problem caused by a bit of poor design where the drop in battery voltage that the starter motor causes confuses the test?
Not a show stopper, but it has always annoyed me. As it happens I need to pause for a couple of seconds before starting anyhow or the Dension bluetooth adapter I have gets confused.... Waste of money that was - has never worked reliably... anyhow I digress..
