Oh yes, of course. I had been looking at the new MAFs on EBSpares and they come with the bit that the MAF screws into don't they. So yes I agree, I could take out the 'electronic' bit of the MAF and replace it but I guess I should replace the air filter and clean out the 'other' bit of the MAF, housing, mesh etc. So do really need to sort it out properly. I only have limited history on the car and I have a bill showing air filter replacement in 2003! So if its not been done since then it'll be ready. Those photos you attached are very good, the 6th one down shows the bracket that I was trying to remove first but the whole set will be useful when I do replace/repair it. Thanks a lot.
