Sticking Speedo - 156 JTD
Only 2 weeks in to owning my 156 and all is well apart from this little niggle. I say little niggle it could potentially mean points on my licence!
Accelerate up to 85mph and the speedo kind of gets stuck/becomes sluggish at approx 40mph then jumps up to 65 then continues on up to 85mph OK.
Decelerate slowly and it will stick at 60mph. When you reach approx 40mph it releases and drops down again.
This is a pain in the arriss when going through mway roadworks, and just generally not good. Fortunately the Tomtom seems accurate so able to use that as backup.
So, question is. What is the "stick" likely to be, the clock mechanism the sender, or something else?
Car is a 2005 2.4sw JTDm manual on 62k miles. If I just bought a replacement speedo would I be able to get the mileage corrected?
What would people advise I do to rectify the problem?
