Hello, i'm hoping someone can help or give suggestions....
I have a 147 JTD 05 plate. Back in July the engine completely cut out, wouldn't re-start. After 10 mins, got car re-started and engine management light on. As hundreds of miles from home, rang for breakdown recovery who erred on side of caution and got a tow home. Loaded car off truck and engine management light gone out.
1000 miles later a couple of months ago, the same thing happens. Take it to my garage who take it to another garage who do diagnostic test - they say clutch sensor needs replacing, which they did, and all was well until yesterday when the car cut out again, engine management light on. Pulled to side of road and few minutes later started up, drove on further and cut out again. Got started and parked up nearby and got lift to work. Later in day started up no problem, engine management light gone out and drove home 30 miles no problems.
I took the car to the alfa garage today and they did diagnostic check - showed up intermittent injector fault on all 4.
Car is going into my garage for MOT tomorrow and they're going to take a look. Have had a look on this forum and similar faults suggest crank sensor. Could this be a possibility, or would this have shown on diagnostics??
Any thoghts gratefully appreciated
