Hi all

Anyone know what the symptoms of a driveshaft going are?

Have a shake on the steering wheel like warped discs but accompanied by a funny noise like a lorry air brake.

Read somewhere that driveshaft can have these sorts of signs

Car is GT JTD

When the cv joint went on my drive shaft I got an intermittent ''thrumming'' noise very similar to a noisy road surface, no steering shake/wobble, eventually it deteriorated to where it felt that the engine was trying to leap off its mountings!

Well, old way to test drive shafts was to take car to open area and in first gear do full lock turns in each direction. If you started hearing a knocking noise, then CV joint was buggered.
