Alfa Romeo 147

Another little job done.

Since picking up the 147 a couple of weeks ago, the drivers seat has not slid forward when acessing the back seats. It did tilt, but no slide. Bit of a pain in the bum.

Anyway, today after fitting the Stereo i thought i would look into it. I found a cable about 12" long down the n/s of the seat, had the lug missing from the end to activate a small lever, thus alowing the seat to slide.

It took a little while to remove, and was a bit of a pain, but i got it out in the end. I hunted the garage for a bicycle brake cable, and set about recreating the said cable. I soldered a small piece of brass tube to the end, to recreate what was there originally and bent it to shape.

After some more swearing, it was back on, and not the seat works perfectly. Probably saving yet more money on spares.

Well chuffed now.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Not on my car, but on a friends. Think it's fairly common.

Congrats on the cheap fix
