Clutch problems in cold weather and front suspension change

My 156 S/W Selespeed has occasionally stalled when I am turning corners and braking hard and the wife has had it stall on her a couple of times and last winter we had quite a few clutch related problems when the car was cold (frosty mornings).

The alfa specialist adjusted the clutch rod saying it was put at it's maximum which has helped however they said it was a time for a new clutch. As we're about to head into another winter I'm thinking I'm going to have to get it done (they're quoting 777).

I've also had play in the antiroll bar diagnosed with the main alfa dealer quoting 217 whilst the alfa specialist is advising that all the front suspension could do with replacing (play in front suspension arms lower and antiroll bar and OSF top arm becoming worn). The alfa specialist is quoting 'front suspension including top arms lower arms antiroll bar and links' - 783.73.

I've just spent 1060 on an ABS problem see here and don't fancy another 1500.

Any ideas?
