I love my 156........
I'm a total Alfa convert now. I've owned my 53 plate 156 JTS for a year now and she went for her MOT this morning. Was ****ting my pants about the horrific bill that awaited me.
Just had the call; its failed.
On a side light bulb
It has cost me peanuts over the last year. £100 to replace the thermostat (which I chose rather than needed to do), £180 for a full Alfa specialist service, and £50 to MOT it. £320 for 15,000 fun, trouble free, miles.
I've owned a lot of British Leyland classic cars over the years and I'm a firm believer in the "friday car" syndrome where the workers came back from the pub at lunch half ****ed and knocked out inferior cars. Reading some other people's nightmare Alfa experiences it would appear that that there are also "friday cars" in the Alfa world that are always going to gobble up money and not be quite right. I'm just glad I appear to have landed on my feet (for once!) with my car.
