147 rear wiper not working, help.

hello all.

My rear wiper on my 147 isn't working its stuck in the middle and wont go back down to its normal positon.

Has any1 experienced this problem before, if so is it a quick fix or an expensive job?
Hopefully not just forked out 150 quid on a new starter motor.

I was thinking its either a blown fuse or the motors gone, but im not mechanically minded.
Any help and advice will be very welcome.

Thanks in advance.

If you remove the motor and strip it down, you will find that the shaft is corroded and fouling on the bush.

Strip it down, emery the shaft to remove the corrosion and regrease the lot, that should be it for another 3 years or so.

I dont know where they get these from, theres usually a Marelli badge over a Bosch badge, it says Denso inside and says GKN on the gears....

happened to me

This happened to me a while back, the motor was still turning and the wiper had just come unattached from the motor so I just bought a new wiper and fitted it properly...works fine now! The thread seems to undo itself

Had problems here too - these seem to be prone to playing-up...

One thing to look out for is the small fitting the washer pipe pushes onto; this is only bonded onto the assembly in one place so can work loose - result is no washer fluid on the rear window, but plenty in the boot!

Fix from cj romeo works fantastic, couldnt believe how much crap was in there either. Actually had lard forming in there! Must be from the fairy liquid I use in the washfluid which had leaked into the wiper rotor.
anyway cheers cjromeo saved me a few pound!!!
