Good idea to share
I have recently thought that my oil level was too high. It was at the max level on the dipstick and reading six bars and "maximum oil level" on the dash. Very occasionally it would say "engine oil level", which is okay but "maximum oil level" is too much.
I have been thinking of draining off a bit of oil, only about a quarter of a litre, but didn't fancy the idea of trying to crawl under the car remove the engine guard and then try to undo the sump plug in a confined space.
A friend suggested something that works.
Put a thin tube down the dipstick holder and syphon it out. It only comes out very slowly, a few drips at a time, but if left for several hours it slowly drains off..... job done.
I thought it was a good idea anyway!
