Missing wishbone bush?

Hello, i think i might have a serious problem but i'm not sure yet hence why i'm asking here first to find out.

Yesterday i thought i'd remove the front left wheel to lubricate the wishbone bushes with silicon lubricant since they were becoming a little noisy, but surprisingly i made a weird discovery. As i went to lubricate the bottom wishbone, i found that one of the bushes wasn't were it was suppose to be, in fact there was nothing there at all. I'm just assuming it deteriorated and fell of in pieces for now but what's bothering me is that i had my car MOT two weeks ago and they failed to detect this. Surely they would have said something about it? or would they?

Anyway, what i need to know is if it's too serious or not. I checked the wishbones and they have a thin sheet of rust so i think they'll need replacing soon, but since i use the car everyday to go to work, i don't want to end up in an accident if the other bush comes out too.

If you are talking about the large one that the strut fork bolts through, it only goes half way so from the back it looks like a bit is missing.

Pics would help .....

Agree pics would help, but if its one of the two bushes where the wishbone is clamped to the subframe....don't drive it! The wishbone and therefore front wheel will be flapping around badly, making the car unstable......

If its an anti-roll bar bush - not as critical, but you'd have some serious rattling.....
