I am a proud owner of a 147 1.9 JTD for about 6 months now, i really love the car. Trying to sort some niggles with the car before i start tuning it, and i need your help
Sometimes, not very often, the brake paddle behaves strange. Example: going with 50km/h and lets say 3rd gear, i come to a traffic light being red. So i begin to brake and by the point im down at around 20-30km/h and while still braking i press the clutch to put the car in idle.
The instant i start pressing the clutch, the brake paddle feels lighter, i.e. no brake resistance, for another 1cm perhaps but will continue to brake, and will find resistance after that "dead zone". If i release it and press again, the dead zone is gone.
It feels to me as though by pressing the clutch all the fluid pressure just transfers to the clutch system creating a vacuum in the brake system which feels like this "dead zone"? I am also more positive about this since i read that the clutch and brake share the fluid tank.
Do you have any idea what it could be? I went to my alfa specialist (where i also bought the car with 1y warranty) and they said they couldnt reproduce it/ dont know what im talking about.
Thanks for your time
