Just bought my missus a 147 2.0l Lusso at the weekend and looking forward to finding out a bit more about them. Nice car in Alfa Red with black leather sports seats (with the red stitching), 17" 5 hole Alfa alloys, Bose stereo, etc. 1 owner with 56k on the clock, FSH and in good condition generally.
Couple of things require some TLC though and looking for a bit of advice:
1) Sticking rear door handles.
2) Exterior black plastic trim to the passenger side door is discoloured badly (went sort of brown & shiny!).
3) Squeaky clutch pedal!
Handles - I've done a search and followed the 'how to' on the door handles but they still stick sometimes. I removed the handle, sprayed some lube in and worked it until it moved freely then sprayed some grease down into the metal rod mechanism in the door as this was sticking a bit too. When I connect it all back together though it's still sticking. Anyone have any further experience of how to resolve this?
Plastic trim - if I can source a new one how do you change this? Just to clarify it's the flat hard plastic one that is mirrored on the back door where the two doors meet. If anyone has one of these in good nick PM me and I'll buy it off you.
Clutch pedal - Can it be lubricated to stop this and if so where?!
One other thing- the passenger mirror folds in but the drivers doesn't - is this normal!?
I also own a 166 so see these probs as character but try telling the wife that!
Any help appreciated.
