Have been looking for a decent 147 for a while and i am waiting for a call from a AR dealer to say the one i have inquired about is in for me to view and test drive. It is an 06 reg 1.6TS with just 2000 miles on the clock.
In the mean time on Friday, i test drove the same model, 06 reg with 36000 miles on the clock. Now after doing my home work on this site and on the internet on what to look out for, running costs etc etc, i must admit i was disappointed with how the 36000 miler drove.
For me it didnt drive particularly sporty, the handling wasnt much to write home about, the 'feel' of the steering felt rather light and not very well weighted and it didnt seem to have that much 'go' in it as i was expecting! At the mo i have a 1.4 05 reg Fiesta (sorry about that!) which i have to say is a good drive. The steering is well weighted and responsive, the ride is sporty without being too harsh, and for a 1.4, it is quite nippy - not that i thrash it!!
Should i still go and try the 2000 miler as ive been told in the past that although you might get 2 identical cars, one may drive that much better than the other?
Has anyone else on here gone from a similar car to mine to a 147? If so, how did you find it?
I really do want a Alfa and have always fancied one!!
Thanks everyone for reading this and for any comments
