GT wheel size?

Hello again guys,

Thanks for all the help in making my mind up to buy a GT. Can you help me with a question about wheel sizes please?

I've noticed in various adverts that there seems to be a choice between 17 & 18 inch wheels. What is the difference between the two, other than one inch that is?

18's look better, are more expensive, but apparently give a harsher ride.

oh and you get no spare wheel with 18's ...just that foam stuff. Not sure about 17's ...probably get a spare wheel.

18's on mine. i love em.

(18's not aftermarket -just more expensive option at point of car configuration. Also on GT Blackline and cloverleaf -pretty sure 18's are standard)

Diesels and Twin Sparks came with 16", upgradable to 17" or 18", until the Blackline and other recent editions that come with 18's.

V6's came with 17", upgradable to 18". V6's come with foam as no space saver wheel is available to fit over the front brakes.

IMO 16" look quite silly on a GT. The 17's are ok and give better ride comfort. The 18" look fantastic but you do loose a little ride comfort. Worth it though!

17s get a spare wheel though it's a steel space-saver (at least it is on my 55/2006 car)

18s look the best, ride comfort OK on most roads, but they sure have a magnetic attraction for curbs
