Sport Pack vs Standard Suspension 156
I've been looking around at upgrades to the standard suspension on my 2000 156, and read dozens of threads on options around here, so apologies to drop another one in. What I'm wondering is, how much better is the sport pack suspension over the standard setup? Are the dampers upgraded or do you only get shorter springs? Crucially, how much would it set me back to get the parts?
I've been looking at the the £230-odd kits on eBay (they seem to change name every month but I think it's all the same budget bilstein kit) and been tempted on this as an alternative option, but since I have to cart tonnes of heavy film kit around in my car from time to time, I worry about making the ride too crashy.
And I know loads of you will tell me I should just bite the bullet and go with eibach/bilstein setup or coilovers, but unfortunately I just can't afford this. I may sound like a skinflint, but if I can't do this economically I just can't do it at all...
