as stated in the headline i put some Red Stuff with Grooved Disks on my Alfa today...and while the Calipers were off.... i did something stupid.
See for yourself:
as i have a couple of 300ZX TwinTurbo Calipers (4 Piston) for spare, i tired if they would eventually fit...
lookes pretty good
different bolts are needed, but hey
The downside, they are a little bit to thick around the bolts.... maybe 1.5/2mm.
take away maybe 2mm of material, they will align perfect with the standard mounting bolts.
as i said.
only a little would be needed.
However i had no grinding wheel at hand so i did not try any further.
But from what i've seen they will align.
That's for the Calipers.
Now for the Discs, Nissan uses 5x114,4 and alfa's 5x98 (on the 156) so the Nissan discs (e.g. 280x30mm) won't fit. However there are quite a lot Nissan calipers with exact the same mounting points avialiable:
Nissan 200sx S14 280x30
Nissan 300ZX Z32 Twin Turbo (others will fit too, but we all want to improve right?
Nissan Skyline R32 GTS 280x30
Nissan Skyline R32 GTR 296x32
Nissan Skyline R32 GTR V-Spec 324x30
Nissan Skyline R33 (2.5 Turbo) 296x32
Nissan Skyline R33 GTR 324x30
Nissan Skyline R34 GTR 324x30
Nissan Skyline R34 GTT 310x30
Nissan 350Z (Golden Brembos) 324x30
The Calipers for 324x30 are all Brembo and 6 Piston afaik.
I still think i've missed a few Subersions but nobodys perfekt.
As my Brakes are now new, and as i do have some "project" car (guess where those Z32 Calipers came from ^^) i don't intend to try any further, but if there is someone who'd like to test-fit one caliper (to make shure it does Realy work!) i can spare a set of two Z32 Front Calipers. I'm not using them on my car because one of them was damaged by the previous owner...and i highly suggest one should not use this particular caliper anymore for driving, but it would be a good "Test" candidate.
All one would need is a discs that comes close to the the nissan spec disks, just with an alfa PDK evantually a spacer would be needed (to mount a 305mm Disc on the 280 Calipers for instance).
feel free to comment.
BTW: is there a reason the image tag won't work?
