Hi adriantan. welcome to the forum.
I bought a 57 plate GT from an Alfa dealer a few months ago and that had 12,700 miles and was 18 months old. It also didn't have its 12 months service. The dealer gave it a 2 year service (at 18 months old) and provided me with a letter from Alfa UK. I am told that this should be produced if I have a problem with the warranty.
It reads; "We are aware that some vehicles, showing 07 and 57 plates supplied do not have a complete service history for the time of the purchase. This can result from some Alfa Romeo dealers not accepting warranty work due to apparant gaps in the service history. In most cases this parameter has been exceeded whilst the vehicles were not in use and in our storage compounds under the care of Alfa Romeo."
It goes on to say that if any difficulty is experienced with the warranty the letter should be produced and the following person should be contacted;
Used Vehicle Marketing Manager
Fiat Group Automobiles Limited

I have already had some warranty work done and they didn't ask to see the service book, perhaps they will in the third year.
I test drive a few 07 and 57 plate GT's and many of them had the first service missing.
If I were you I would get it serviced ASAP and then clarify your position by writing to the above address.
With regard to the warranty, it is a three year warranty. The first two years are manufacturers warranty and the third year is a dealer warranty. I don't know what the difference is because the dealer still does the work.
However, with the 3rd year warranty you must get it transfered into your name. There is about a £28 tranfer fee to change it into your name, in my case it was included in the sale. Thisis sent to AlfaCare who issue you with a letter and a card bearing your name for the third year warranty to apply. The people who deal with this is;
The AlfaCare Programme Office,
5 Mid Point Business Park,
tel. 00800 2532 0000
With regard to servicing I would suggest you find a good independant Alfa specialist.

According to their servicing costs it is £98.50 inc VAT.
I am told that as long as genuine Alfa parts are used the warranty is still valid. However, considering that your service history isn't complete you may not want to add another reason to refuse to do warranty work and a dealer might be the safest bet.
Have alook at the above website. There are some good pages on there to tell you all about your car and things to look out for.
