Water in footwell

I'm having problems with water in the passenger side footwell. I have a 156 2.0 JTD on a 55 plate. I have read as many of the previous postings on this subject as i can find. I am sure this is an aircon drain issue as there has been no moisture since i stopped using the aircon. I have read several references to the drain being blocked. However, despite some explanations as to where to find this drain i still cannot locate it. I have the carpet up and have searched under the vehicle also. Would apppreciate any further help on locating the drain or any further suggestions. As a last resort if anyone knows of a reputable Alfa technician in the Cheltenham/Gloucester area i would be grateful, i would like to avoid main dealers.

Think someone said after carpet/felt removal, need to chisel though the black stuff sound deadening to locate it? Dunno' really, but if it is so what a caper?
