My wife had the wipers strangely die on her Q2 yesterday (it's only 18 months old). Having done a search on the forums this hardly seems to make us unique, and at least it didn't happen in the outside lane at 70mph, but I am alarmed by several points.
First off, the fact that Alfa choose to screw down their fuseboxes, provide no diagram inside, and make tiny fuses you need needlepoint pliers to extract. I mean WTF? Are you supposed to take it to a dealer or wait hours for the AA for a sodding fuse?
I now know to carry a cheap multitool and a photocopy of the fusebox diagram from now on.
Secondly, the offending 30A fuse was one of only 2 listed that remotely related to the wipers (I think it was tagged as for the washer pump???); if it blows you get diddly squat on the whole stalk. Now a 30A is one of, if not the, biggest fuses on the car, what on earth could cause that to blow? I'm going to have to give the missus a quick tutorial in case it happens again, luckily I'd just treated the windows with rain repellant so she was able to drive home reasonably easily.
Love Alfas, but you are never totally at ease are you?
