Problem with Alfa 147 gear /clutch
Hi , Im new to this site but have used it before to seek advice on issues Ive had with my Alfa 147 so I thought where else better to go to get some advice but from Alfa owners themselves as it is a very good site.
Ive had my Alfa 147 manual 1.6 for a year , second hand year 51 and in November last year the gears started to get very stiff and wouldnt go into gear , this progressed until it siezed up colmpletely broke down and was towed to my garage. I thought that ws the problem solved having spent a whopping 545 pounds on a replacement complete clutch and slave cylinder , clutch pump . However the problem returned about 6 weeks later where in the morning as I first got into the car it was very difficult to get into gear and was sticking , it would go when pushed and pulled and would ease up within about 20 minutes of driving and all was ok for the rest of the day , then the difficulty to get into gear returned again the next day , so back to the garage it went for another slave cylinder to be replaced and thought all was ok . Sadly the same problem has happened another two times and I am now clueless to what the problem is . I will have to get it back into the garage as it is very worrying driving it especially with two young children and Im worriedit will seize up again and just not go into any gear at all. I would really appreciate anyone's advice on this problem. Ive used a local non alfa garage who are good and they have spoken to the local canterbury alfa dealer about this problem but they haven't been helpful in regards to what is causing this.
