if i had a 2007 car i wouldn't want parts on it that had already been on a car that was potentially older than the car they are going on to...
Secondhand parts have come from a vehicle that has met with a potential unfortunate ending, whats to say these parts have not been compromised in the process, no disrespect to Autolusso, or anyone who sells off the shelf parts but they do not have the equipment to say 100% that a used part is safe.
Steering, braking and suspension parts i would only get brand new, i wouldn't feel happy putting my family in a car that had been rebuilt with second hand running gear.
its a personal view and not one shared by everyone
Who was the cheapest after the dealer or after market because you didnt say.
Not putting second hand parts on your car because you are afraid that they might fail, i.e suspension is being abit over the top, afterall you could have dodgy suspension on your car that could fail at any time but you have a better idea of that if you had it in your hand and then fitted it,
And i dont see how body panels would be affected in a crash if they were not near the accident area, and if you look at them and they are damaged then you dont buy them, and if they are not damaged which you would clearly see when you look at it then you do buy it.
Dont tell me that if you crashed your 156 you would buy off the shelf parts from alfa because both you and i know that, that is a lie.
I'm not being funny but if you crashed your 156 and needed; 2 headlights 2 wings bumper and a bonnet, by the time you buy them from alfa and have them sprayed up by them it will be well over the value of your car, thats how high their prices are, whereas if you bought them parts from ebay or a breaker you could get them for 300 quid. C'mon there is no real argument here is there
