Whats the difference between having a remap and a tuning box? Know what both of them are, just what effect would each have, which is best? The tuning box looks good at less than £100 on fleebay, but no doubt you guys can put me right and explain why the remap would be better?
all the tuning box will do is fool the engine into thinking its cold and it will advance timing. when in fact its not cold, so wont be getting more air, so will be over fueling without compensating for the air. and thats bad. and is for a universal amount of cars and whats good for one, wont be good for another, all engines are different.
a remap, will be for your car, mapped for your car, and your engine, so everything will be optimized, nothing will be out of sync, fueling will be right, air/fuel mix will be right, so early detenation will be avoided.
a live remap will be your best bet, might be more expensive initially, but in the long run, it wont kill the engine early
