Help 147 front suspension bump stops?

Or more to the point, is there such a thing as I can't see any! However, going over a deep pothole produces an unsatisfying metal-on-metal thud. There must be something to stop this when the suspension comes to the end of it's travel? For info, it's a 2006 TI SE, low mileage, no knocking.

There are bumpstops at the top of the damper, combined with a dust cover.
Probably p/n 60650551 for yours.

I wouldn't have thought yours would have fallen apart so soon though.
