Got the multimeter finally, so gave it a go. Please remember I know nothing about using a multimeter.
Measuing volts on this relay feed here
it showed 14v (assume it meant 12v) on the thick green wire. No other wire was providing power.
On the relay here
I checked resistance. Put the multimeter on 20K and it reads '1' when not connected to anything. If I connect pins 85 to pin 88 it reads '0.07'. No other mixture of pins changes the display from '1'. I have no idea what this proves, hopefully some electronic guru can shed some light.
The above relay, B047 E, 12V 20A, is the same as the A/C pump in the engine bay. I tested that and got the same resistance results as above. If the A/C pump relay is not connected the engine does not start, so I assume they both are working as intended.
This lead here
is behind the centre console switches for Front Fog, Rear Fog, Traction Control. I don't get a yellow light when I press Front Fog. I do get a light when I press Rear Fog or Traction Control. When the cover is removed I note there is a hidden red led below each yellow led. These are all lit red so I assume they all get power ok.
What do I do next ?
