There I was pottering along overtaking all the Sunday drivers, like you do, and had just got to a bit of clear road when I felt a single slight misfire, followed an few hundred yards later by engine failure and Christmas tree lights. As I was partly blocking a junction, this allowed everybody to catch up and drive slowly past having a laugh
not good fo me or Alfa's reputation).
Being a smart ar*e I diagnosed a failed crank sensor and was glad I still had that one I bought for the last 156, in the boot. RAC man arrives and plugs in - yes, its the crank sensor. He jacks the car up and replaces it, check it works and everything is hunky dory
While he is doing this, I notice that he's put the jack further in than I would have, so I have a look to see where abouts he's put the jack.
He's only jacked up the driver's floor about an inch a crushed the box section that runs under it . . . . .
So looks like the RAC are going to get a repair bill on Monday . . . .
