Ordered a Mito, got a 147 instead (courtesy car)
I got the keys to a 147 today whilst I wait for my Mito to arrive - and I'm definitely liking it! First time I've spent some time driving an Alfa Romeo without a salesman in the car so I was able to get comfortable and drive on familiar roads and see what the engine has to offer.
Bearing in mind I am coming from driving a P-reg Polo 1.6 for the past five years, so my judgement may be a bit skewered. Only done 30 miles today and it may just be the satisfaction of being in a modern car, but the engine tune was music to my ears - so much that I don't bother with any music. Third gear up to 5,000 RPM before changing up. Phwoarrrrrrr.
Fourth gear cruising at 30-40mph is nice and smooth. Turning also seems to be easier and sharper with minimal effort and cornering. At times I felt my Polo would tip over if I turned it any more.
Overall, it's a good first Alfa experience. I hope the experience continues when I get the Mito - if it ever turns up.
