156 Twin Spark Horn issues

Hi, just wondering if anymore can help me on this

I have the above and more often than not when i go to beep the horn it does not work, every now and then it does produce a sound, but otherwise nothing, now i imagine that its a loose connection or something like that, i have my MOT in a couple of weeks so it will fail on this aspect, just wondering if anyone knows anything i should do to put this correct.

Probably only a couple of things it could be - the horn, the switch or the wires.

My suggestion would be to connect a 12V bulb to the horn connectors and see if it lights when you press it. If not, work backwards...

There's a few threads on this so have a search

It seems it mainly points to a connector behind the airbag

Happy hunting

had the same problem on my 147, the horn only worked intermittently

turned out to be the actual horn unit

like iainfm says, start with the easy bit and work backwards!

what year is your car?

you may need a clock spring located between the airbag & the steering wheel

I ahve 2 or 3 suited to pre 2002 cars if you need one
