How to diagnose sensor issue on AirCon??
Can anyone help me with diagnosing a curious problem.
My aircon will not kick in at all. i.e. the pump won't engage.
I have just replaced a split pipe from the aircon rad to the pump. I then had the car leak tested and fully regassed which was completed successfully.
However, when I press the button in the car (snowflake), it lights up but the compressor just wont spark into life.
I have tried it on the Lo setting, and it blows, but no cold air.
I have done the Air con reset by leaving the battery disconnected for a while and then reconnecting it. And I have also recently had a full main ECU re-programme after it got spiked. (air con did not work prior to this either but also had the split pipe at the time)
My car is a 53 plate 156 2.0 JTS.
The pressure sensor screwed into the metal air con pipe (At least I think thats what it is) has power going to it according to the meter I put on the cable supplying it.
What else can I do to diagnose the problem without an expensive trip to the dealer. Can I test the head unit somehow or can I somehow trip the sensor or compressor?
Your help and thoughts would be much appreciated. All searches on the forum generally result in a re-gass which I have done.
