Non-starting 156, no noise, no nothing!
Ive spent a while searching previous threads for an answer for my problem, but havent found anything.
The car is a 156, 1.8TS.
Went out in the car today, had it parked up whilst i went riding motorbikes, the bootlid was open, nothing out of the ordinary. Went to start it up to head off and nothing. There were a few ticks as if the starter motor was getting an electrical supply, but it wouldnt start. Bumped started it first time and headed off home, thinking if it was the battery it would charge up on the way home.
Got home, turned the car off, went to start it again, and nothing again. A few ticks when trying to start, but after a few attempts these ticks stopped. Ive had a poke around the engine, checked the fuses and nothing looks a miss, cleaned the battery and checked things over. Tried jumping it as well, but nothing again, so i can only presume its nothing to do with my battery.
I noticed that when the key is turned in the ignition to try to start it, the dashboard lights come on, expect for the oil, engine management and battery light. To me, this would signal an electical problem somewhere, but Im hoping someone else has had a similar problem and has an answer to it!
Thanks for any help you may have!
