Do a search on this one. I seem to remember it being something to do with the stop-light switch, but I might be wrong!

I think there's a magnetic switch on the clutch pedal. Have a look under the dash and make sure it lines up.

Thanks guys checked switches and the Clutch one wasnt getting contact with the clutch pedal assy. Dont know if it got damaged when the assy fell apart due to missing clip. all i did was put a sticky tie wrap base on it to push the switch a couple more mm's in. All working fine now thanks again

Had the same problem with my 03 reg 147, the switch (white box) on the clutch and brake pedals have a plunger which makes contact with the clutch and brake, the pulnger is on a rachet and can get pushed in.
to fix:
Look under dash above pedals, Get a pair of elephant nose pliers and grab a hold of the plunger, gently pull the plunger down till you hear a click or two.
This should hopefull fix it.

Good Luck

Thumbs Up Cruise control working again

easy fix, I used a fat piece of double sided tape and a random strip of aluminium to ensure that the atcuating plate makes good contact with the plunger switch on my 2005 147
