156 JTS clutch/airbag light
new to the site and did a quick search and couldn't find anything so i thought i would just ask!
I'm looking at buying a 52 plate 156 2.0 JTS manual.
I test drove the car for about 40 minutes on various different roads and found it to be a superb drive, want to take the plunge but just had a couple of quick questions.
The clutch biting point felt very low. There was no slip or judder at any speed in any gear. It was still smooth despite the low biting point, not at all sharp. It changed down with no problem and went into 1st at a slight roll with no problem but did crunch a little selecting reverse. Is this a sign that the clutch and/or one of the cylinders are wearing or is this how a 156 clutch should feel?
The other slight concern was the airbag light staying on for between about 30 seconds and a minute after starting the engine. Is this normal or a sign that there might be a problem with the infamous alfa electrics? Every other light went out quickly and all the electrics/switches seemed to be working perfectly with the engine both on and off.
Any advice/comment would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
