147 1.6 to a 3.0(be gentle)

ive got a 05 plate 147 parked up right now and in the future would like to give it a bit of an upgrade consistin of new seats, suspention and possibly removing the rear seats(Wannabe cup car) but mainly replacing my 1.6 engine with a shiny refurbed 3.0 now i know alot of you will disagree but what do you think i know its a huge job but im more than willing to put in the time and the money, its not like ill be selling it if i do, so what do you think? (be gentil with me)i just think it will be an amazing sleeper on the duel carrige ways especially with the new front end it has and the tinted windows

Because it just not as fun as making it yourself.

I once asked the same question regarding the 2.5 v6 The Bear and was met by a wall of why bother but if your goin to buy a GTA why not buy a Focus ST or Subaru Impreza as they'll be even faster than a GTA

I would love to do it too when the engine of mine goes bang as its getting close to high mileage for an TS engine imo.

I say go for it. If you can do it, have the wire splicing abilities then do it.

The problem I've ALWAYS had with some ALFISTI is that they tend to be too clung on standard/OEM modifying. Don't dare think of engine transplants or they'll rip you apart, but I see you've asked for mercy LOL.

The thing is, the most radical Alfa's are the ones that's modified tastefully. Thus you'll seldom see an ALFA on the cover of a modified magazine or in a car show or racing in the streets etc.

Do it...then show us how cool and revolutionary it is. In South Africa we have loads of modified Alfa's...we havea rear engined 155 with a 166 twin turbo motor in it...we have a 450bhp 3.8l 156!!! We ahve V6 Guilietta's and turbo 145's!!!

Problem is, you NEVER see these cars, only once in a blue moon!MODIFY IT MAN!!!
