Hi everyone, i am a proud owner of a 156, 2.0 TS. Unfortunately i have a problem with the air con which i am struggling to get to the bottom of, so here goes see if you have any ideas or similar experiences.
The air con system is fully charged, no leaks. When i start up the car the air con will kick in, it will run and works well while idling no problem. As soon as i try to pull off the car jerks and i can hear the compressor clicking in /out/in/out, the car becomes virtually undriveable unless you disconnect the compressor, then all is well but no aircon.
I have checked the supply to compressor - 12/13v great, i have traced back to compressor relay and find the engine ECU intermittantly drops out the earth to activate the compressor relay.
I have checked DTC's in enginemanagement, no faults, i can not check th a/c fault memory as the diagnostic tool does go into it.
So is this likely to be the engine ecu faulting or is there something else it could be, like i say it only happens when you pull off from standstill, so when the car senses you are moving.
If you can help me you would cheer me up on yet another rainy, cloudy summer day, why do we live in this country again???
