Engine Cut Out @3000 Not Crank Sensor
To carry on from a previous post, engine is still cutting out when warm when it reaches 3000RPM and I've jusy changed the crank sensor.
A bit more detail. 1999 2.4 JTD 110k miles.
Starts first time every time when cold, however when engine's warm and you leave it to sit for 5 mins or so and crank it over it sounds like it's only firing on 1 cylinder. So I turn it off. Immediately try and start it again and it starts no problem.
Crank it up while driving and as soon as you reach 3000(warm engine), dead engine. A bit disconcerting as you then have no power steering... Ahem.
Switch ignition off and restart. Starts no problem but glow plug light stays on.
Switch off and restart again and glow plug goes out as it should.
Happens about 7 times out of 10 or there abouts.
I've also tried it while stationary, but doesn't seem to happen then so sort of pointing at fuel starvation (ish)
Can anyone recommend a next step.
If you chase the answer, it moves away.
