I used the gloss plasticoat stuff and it look the dogs danglies. Just gives it a meaner look. Like a bouncer giving you the "I wouldnt do that if I were you!!"
Looks good Karn. Whats next? I'm gonna do my calipers this week, though not decided on colour yet.
I have lots of things I'd like to do but a few things I really NEED to do!
Both the rear tyres have splits in the rubber running all the way round the tyre where the tread meets the tyre wall. Ok for local motoring but I'm collecting my Dad from Manchester airport on Sunday and dont fancy them on the motorway. So thats the first job.
Secondly I plan to get my Dad to help me take the sport pack shocks of the car I'm breaking and put them on my working v6 to replace the standard ones on there. While I'm doin that we'll probably change the rear wheel hubs as I have a noisy bearing on the passenger side. Also one of my upper wishbone rubber have split so probably change that too. While we're changing the shocks over i was planning on getting some new springs for them. Seen a set on ebay for £80 including postage but they will lower it by 40mm on the front and 30mm at the back and I'm not sure if thats too much, what do you think?
I didn't get my dad over specifically to help me with my mechanical work but I did slip into the conversation that it might be an idea if he brought some overalls with him
He's pretty handy with a set of spanners, he hand built a mini cooper from the shell up when he was in his twenties so I'd be alot happier ding things while he's around.
I fancy doing my brake calipers too, I think I'm going to go for either black or silver and would love to have thanm powdercoated raether than painted but the place I went to last time said the could do everthing apart from the rear calipers as they had the hanbrake mechanism inside and the seals for this would melt in the oven. Anyone know if these can be removed? I'm planning on drilled discs and greenstuff pads on the front and standard discks with greenstuff pads at the rear, braided hoses all round too.
I also want my 16" speedline alloys refurbished but I don't want them in the standard silver. I think I'd like them slightly darker to to compliment the headlights and side repeaters. I'd then like a nice set of low profile rubber bands to wrap them all in
Lots to do but one step at a time eh.
I'll keep you posted on my progress
