just read a thread from a couple of months back, didn't know whether to laugh or cry: engine management light coming on at about 3000rpm, turbo overboosting, have changed the map, maf, egr, air filter, fuel filter, temp sensor/thermostat housing, nothing left to change but the turbo! the diesel specialist says my problem is with the waste gate being cacked up causing the overboost! lost count of what it has cost me to keep this pile of italian merde on the road, clarkson says that for that breifest of moments when everything works on your alfa it is all worth it, well, i've only had mine a year and a half so its probably a bit early to hope to have everything running right!! apart from the above list i have replaced both bottom ball joints, cv boot (mot). these changes caused a knocking noise on acceleration. i assumed the ball joint was duff, the garage said no, its probably the cv that had the split boot, they replaced it, the noise remained, they have now changed 3 cv joints(i paid for parts, they paid for labour) the noise remains! the radio sucks, almost no signal, the airbag lights are permanently on coz alfa put one of the connections next to the seat adjustment, so you dislodge it when you adjust your seat (garage/dealer reset!) driving home a couple of weeks ago the electrics cut out while i was doing about 60, engine died, rev counter read 0, but fortunately the crackly radio kept playing! the failure lasted 3-4 seconds then the car sprang back in to life. the car really is junk, i will never buy an itallian car again, i will actually feel embarrased to sell it on, i may drive it in to a deserted wood knock seven bells out of it with a sledge hammer and then burn it, that way it won't spoil anyone elses life!!! ohh, and of course, i've had hoards of people telling me i told you so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
