Alfa 156 2.0 engine into 1.8 - will it work ok?

Had some bad luck this week. I managed to smash up my 2.0 Selespeed, and then my Dad blew the engine on his 1.8 TS. My Selespped is a write off, but i wandered if i could just swap my 2.0 litre engine into his 1.8 car. It should fit, but would the ECU's be different (mines a sele, so i presume i'd need a 2.0 litre ecu, or is a 1.8 the same?). Also the gearbox in the 1.8 should work fine with a 2.0 litre engine (I do have a spare 2.0 gearbox i could use, but have no idea if it's any good).
Can anyone give me any ideas on problems, and compatability.

The 1.8 is a 1998 TS, and the 2.0 engine i want to use is drom a 2000 selespeed

A collegue of mine swaped his busted 1.8 for a 2.0, but the engine management on the selespeed should be somewhat different on the selespeed than the normal 1.8 or 2.0 for that matter, with fly by wire trottle and all. Think it would be easier to get hold of a 2.0 TS and loom than swaping the selespeed engine.

The 2.0 should go into the 1.8 ok, as long as you keep the 1.8 ECU and other parts.
