Auxillary Belt nightmare - Can I go on holiday?
Have tried really hard to get my car in shape for holiday time is I have not yet had a trip where something has not gone horribly wrong. I was advised by garage to get the auxillary belt and tensioner changed so did so.
Unfortunately just 1 day after the work it is making a right racket, sort of like a cross between a screach and a squeak. When I picked up the car after the work they did suggest it may make some noise whilst it bedded in but surely it shouldn't be this bad???
It eases almost instantly when I spray some silicone on the belt or tensioner but then after 30 secs or so it returns. Please, please, please does anyone have any ideas. We are supposed to be off to the lakes for a much needed holiday tomorrow but it doesn't seem right to go anyway in a car making this noise. Is there a chance it will settle down as suggested??
