Fuel Gauge Problem?
Alfa 147 2.0TS Selespeed
I had a similar problem, i drove to work 1/4 tank no problems, went to work, came out started no problem (i was middle of winter also) drove a few hundred yards uphill and had the message 'Selespeed Failure'.
Now, i was already planning on doing a cambelt overhaul. Did that no problems, but when it came to starting her up again, nothing.. however it still read the 1/4 tank.
So what i did was put 5Ltrs in and that did the trick....
Now the strange thing, i did a spark plug and oil service last time i had chance to work on the car (car was working no problem). changed to plugs, replaced the oil. Put it all back together, and guess what.. turning an no fire. So again i added some more petrol and it worked no problem. (There was just under a quarter tank befoe the work)
The gauges must be calibrated, does anyone know how? Secondly is there some sort of post service requirement programmed into the car meanign you gottta hve quarter tank of petrol? This would be incredibly silly if true.
