Idea Gloverbox Handle broken

The handle to the glover box has fallen off. There was a screw which was holding it together, which I've tried assembling back together...but no luck. It must have been fitted in the factory, as the screw length was far too long for me to be able to put it back together.

So right now, the glover box handle is not attached, but the spring looks ok and not damaged. I've tried to prise it open atleast to see if I could fix it when the glove box is open - again no luck.

The only thing I can think of is try to get an entire lid, with the handle fitted. Then remove the old lid by unscrewing this with the fixtures at the bottom of the lid.

Has anybody else had the same issue? Also how was it fixed?

I don't want to use superglue, it's just not the way to treat an Alfa!!! And - it'll probably come loose and fall off at an embarrassing moment!

Please help!
