Passenger electric window fault

Ok here goes, the passenger window is very slow to go down or up especially if it gets to the bottom. There is power going to it but it sounds like it's taking alot of strain. I had the same on my old Golf mk3. It turned out that the windows that do not get used often tend to seize in their sleeving (dirt, lack of movement etc.) Not sure if the Alfa uses a cable and sleeve system like that of the Golf ? Removing a door panel must be one of the crappiest things to do on a car, not only do you end up breaking off a million plastic fittings but also end up destroying the plastic inner part Anything else to check before opening it up ? Any tips on removing the panel ?

Apreciate it

to save the plastic from tearing use a stanley knife to cut thro the double sided tape

yes its cable/sleeve operated

most likely its the window guides are full of gunk or else the cable system is almost ceased.

cheap enough to buy 2nd hand or even new

window regulators are 77 from the dealer if you hand your old one over, what tends to happen is that the nylon rollers the cable runs on gets brittle with age and starts to crack which jams the cable. It starts off like you describe until it completely fails(had both front ones go within a month of each other. On a plus note the door panel comes off and goes on quite well the only tricky bit is getting the cover off on the inner door handle to access the allen bolt and don't forgot to remove the light casing. The regulator itself is really easy to change just support the window in the up position with a bit off cardboard over the top of door to protect and sellotape from outside glass over cardboard onto inside glass when refitting regulator.all in should take 30-45 minutes and most of that is dismantling/reassembling door panel.
good luck
