I watched American Chopper the other night and they were powdercoating a frame they had built. 230 celcius in the oven if I remember rightly.
I'm sure that by the time you'd collected the stuff for your work the oven had cooled as there not going to open it when its at full temp and walk in to collect the items and then hand them straight over to the customer. I'm pretty sure that might breach one or two health and safety issues.
From what I can gather by doing a quick search on google. The heating process changes the molecular structure of the powder so they bind together better giving a much harder surface. Much the same way as firing clay or tempering steel.
Owning an Alfa is not a matter of life or death...... It's much more important than that.
