LOL, indeed, forget about the poor TBN of Selenia Racing, use that just because they have a contract with FIAT and it's recommended. If it's recommended, it must be the best, logical my dear Watson. All of the "stuff" that goes into engine oils is way too complicated to comprehend, so let's just simplify everything and make recommendations based on .... personal prefference and general laziness, all that reading about engine oils takes time, so why bother....
And never use the "purple" oil(or any other fully synth high performance oil) that a lot of independant racing teams and services recommend, they know jack sheet, bunch of amateurs.
PS. As a general idea, of course you can use whatever it comes as recommended, although it will most likely not be the best choice, but it will definitely not brake your engine at first start, will not make the engine last only 1000 miles and so on. But it will not offer best protection and lubrication either, will not provide lowest friction, will not offer best cold start protection, and so on.
