How important is the slow speed fan?

Just had my radiator replaced and its a million times better than before, doesnt go past 90 degrees at all now Was told that I need the cooling fan resistor replaced as my slow speed fan isnt working.

Will get it replaced in the next month or so but at the moment I am not seeing any urgency as the car in my eyes is running perfectly regardless of no slow fan.

The low speed fan is important, but if you can't be bothered to replace the resistor, just connect the two wires leading to the resistor together, then when the ECU calls for the low speed fan it will bring the fan on at full speed.
