156 JTS throttle/electrical problems
Been having quite a few problems with my 156. Started with the "motor control system failure" warning coming up. Took it to the local specialist and they cleared the fault and it was fine for a while. It started coming up more often and went into "limp home mode" a few times. The specialist checked out the faults which pointed towards the potentiometer. I had this replaced (throttle body replaced - a part from a car Mitchells were breaking).
This cleared a couple of the faults but left one. To clear this I was told it would need a new throttle pedal assembly. Again this came from Mitchells - I cant really afford new parts for it. Still got problems now. The motorised throttle wont "learn" and I permanently have the MCSF warning on.
An auto-electrician has tested the new parts fitted and the wiring and all appears to be fine. His suggestion is that the ECU could be faulty. I think I am going to get this sent away to be tested but thought I would see if anyone has any other suggestions first.
Current faults registered are as follows:
P1687 - Motorised throttle (stop learn)
P0120 - Throttle potentiometer
P1121 - Throttle potentiometer track 1
P1122 - Throttle potentiometer track 2
Any help or suggestions would be grealy appreciated.
